Our Mission
GreaterGood.org is devoted to addressing the health and well-being of people (particularly women and children), animals, and the planet.
The organization will make educational materials available to the general public and provide funding to other registered charitable organizations focusing primarily within the following areas and concerns: 1) alleviating and addressing the root causes of world hunger and food insecurity, 2) early detection and treatment of breast cancer and other widespread health concerns, 3) prevention and treatment of childhood illness, disease, and other children's health and well-being concerns, 4) children's education, 5) protecting and restoring the environment, 6) providing funding for the care and feeding of rescued animals in shelters and sanctuaries, and addressing the root causes of their conditions, 7) related issues that may be associated with any of the aforementioned areas: hunger, cancer and women's health, child health, literacy, environment, animal protection and care.
GreaterGood.org is governed by a Board of Directors. They are:
Lisa Halstead, President
Lisa Halstead is the Chief Operating Officer of CharityUSA.com, LLC, with more than 20 years of experience in technology marketing and management, and eight years generating funds for nonprofits through the Internet and online activism. Lisa brings expertise in organizational planning, personnel management, facilities management and public relations. She has volunteered with a number of health service and educational organizations throughout her career.
Julia Christophersen, Secretary
Julia Christophersen is Vice President of Marketing and Buying for CharityUSA.com, LLC. More than six years working in the Internet and developing online e-commerce gives Julia a well-rounded knowledge of Web-based marketing. Julia combines her background in marketing and finance to the benefit of GreaterGood.org.
Scott Garrepy, Treasurer
Scott Garrepy is the Director of Development for the International Programs at Washington State University and is the former Director of Institutional Advancement for the Tony Award-winning INTIMAN Theatre. Scott's fundraising experience also includes development positions at Seattle Opera and the Atlanta Ballet, as well as consulting work in establishing cause-related marketing partnerships. He is on the board of directors for the Association of Fundraising professionals -- WA chapter.
John Gehrt, Board Member
John Gehrt has held senior executive management positions with retail, direct marketing, manufacturing, transportation, distribution, Internet, and NFP organizations. John has over 30 years experience working at executive and board level with companies ranging in size from startup to the Fortune 500. John has taught Strategic Planning, Finance and Statistics in adult education advanced degree programs. John holds a BA in Economics from the University of Washington and an MBA from the University of Puget Sound.
