Grant Helps Gandalf the Cat Find His Forever Home
Recently our partners at The Animal Rescue Site held a giveaway in which the grand prize winner was able to select a shelter of her choice to receive a $1,000 grant from GreaterGood.org. The shelter selected was PAWS of Lynnwood, WA. They were ecstatic to receive the grant and shared a story with us of how Gandalf the cat benefited from the donated funds.
When Gandalf first arrived at PAWS he was in bad shape, suffering from a bladder infection, a mass on his forehead that needed to be removed, and he was in the early stages of renal failure. The fact that Gandalf was 18 years young was not helping matters.
After treatment, Gandalf began a swift recovery. Shelter staff were at once enamored with his undeniably bright and energetic personality. They were convinced that Gandalf had plenty of life left to live, so they made it their mission to find this handsome cat a forever home.
During his time recuperating from his various illnesses, Gandalf spent time with four different PAWS foster care families, charming all whose path he crossed. It was Jamie and her boyfriend Michael who decided they couldn’t live without him and adopted Gandalf into their family.
Thanks to a grant from GreaterGood.org and The Animal Rescue Site, Gandalf, the 18-year-old cat with a magic personality, has found his forever home.
