Toy Donation Cheers Children on the Reservation

A girl on the Tohono O'odham Reservation receives a Christmas gift, thanks to a grant from This December, and International Playthings partnered to provide Christmas presents for children in one of the poorest counties in America. Toys were given as a grant to the Native American Advancement Foundation (NAAF), who works on the Tohono O’odham Reservation outside of Tucson, AZ.

NAAF held a Christmas party and distributed the toys to some of the neediest children on the reservation in the village of Gu’Vo. The foundation reports that the excitement was palpable as families brought their kids to the tree to choose a gift. Stuffed animals, toys, bags, and more were wrapped and handed out to overjoyed children.

The average annual income of families on the reservation is only $7,000, and without this grant, these young children in Gu’Vo would not have had any gifts to open this holiday season.
