Rescue Bank Receives Generous Donation from Inspired Youth!
For the past three years, over a weekend in September, teens from various Jewish communities across Upstate New York have gathered together to attend a “Teen Leadership Retreat.” Throughout the weekend, teens are introduced to other participants from different backgrounds, traditions, communities, and much more. This year’s retreat brought together 70 teens from Buffalo, Syracuse, Albany, and Ithaca areas of New York State.
Each year an important aspect of the retreat is “Tzedakah“, or translated from Hebrew to English as “charity”. Teens at this years 2016 retreat were given the opportunity to put their newly-learned leadership skills to use by discussing charitable organizations to support.
GreaterGood.org is very honored to announce that this year, a generous $1,000 donation was chosen to be given to Rescue Bank by the youth! We at GGO want to formally thank the Louis S. and Molly B. Wolk Foundations, Buffalo, Ny Bureau of Jewish Education, the Federation of Greater Rochester, NY and the 70 inspiring teens who attended this year’s retreat.
You can also help feed shelter and rescue animals! Every dollar you donate to Rescue Bank offsets $17 of food cost for a rescue, and allows them to put their limited budget into other adoption programs that save more lives.
