GreaterGood.org Turns 10 TODAY!
It’s hard to believe that 10 years ago today GreaterGood.org was founded with the mission to protect People, Pets, and the Planet. The amount we have accomplished over the last decade as a result of YOUR support is incredible. Many of these accomplishments can be found below but never has the strength of GreaterGood.org’s support community been more apparent than in our shared and mighty response to Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma. YOU saw images of pets and humans stranded on rooftops in Houston and answered the call to support our efforts to help those affected. YOU saw homes destroyed, pets displaced, and structures of island communities flattened by Hurricane Irma, and once again you opened up your hearts and gave to help those in need. YOUR kindness helped thousands of people and animals battered by two major hurricanes and catastrophic flooding. Because of you, many are safe who wouldn’t have otherwise been. It’s that spirit of community and hope that humbles us on a daily basis.
Now more than ever, these back-to-back disasters have shown us how strong our community is and that when we work together, we can do big things to protect People, Pets, and the Planet.
And so today, we celebrate. And we ask that you join in the celebration with us, by learning about what we’ve done together and sharing why you are proud to be a part of the GreaterGood family.
Here are just a few of the amazing things YOU have helped accomplish in the last 10 years! Together, we have:
Given scholarships to over 260 girls in 10 countries to attend school through our GROW program
Purchased two buses and given over 300,000 safe rides to school for girls in Afghanistan through our Safe Ride program
Permanently protected over 1,175,000 acres of rainforest land for conservation
Funded over 16,000 mammograms to low-income,
high-risk women in need
Renovated over 100 animal shelters with Rescue Rebuild
Delivered over 200 million meals to hungry animals with Rescue Bank
Provided over 500,000,000 meals to hungry people around the globe
Established a 31,000-acre wildlife corridor for jaguars with Project Wildcat
We cannot thank you enough for the amazing support over the past 10 years, and we cannot wait to see what we can do together in the next ten years and beyond!
