GreaterGood.org’s Rescue Rebuild Partners With Miranda Lambert’s MuttNation to Greatly Increase Adoption Rates!

Our Rescue Rebuild program that transforms animal shelters and rescues in need of building repairs, improved kennels, additional exercise yards, cat enrichment areas, or other projects recently teamed up with MuttNation, the foundation of country music singer Miranda Lambert, in her hometown of Lindale, Texas. Lindale does not have a traditional shelter, and their holding facility is not open to the public for adoption. For dogs and cats looking for the perfect forever home, chances of adoption were pretty slim. MuttNation has been working with the city of Lindale for years to run life-saving transports to other shelters, but Miranda knew her hometown desperately needed its own adoption center. In an exceptional partnership, the City of Lindale donated an unused, older government building and large city park to be rebuilt into a permanent adoption center.

The rebuild wrapped last week, and the results are incredible. Take a look at these before and after photos:

“As a leader in supporting the animal rescue community, partnering with MuttNation and The City of Lindale was a natural fit for our organization, as well as everyone involved,” said Bryna Donnelly, Director of Rescue Rebuild. “Thanks to our network of generous donors, volunteers and MuttNation, we were able to make real change happen for rescues throughout the region.”

The new Lindale adoption center will host regular events and allow adopters to see homeless pets in a family-friendly setting that encourages responsible adoption. Over 20 rescues and adoption partners—including the Lindale Animal Holding Facility—will use the center to save more lives and keep adoptions happening locally!

If it were not for Rescue Rebuild’s work turning this old building into a beautiful new adoption center and dog park, these animals would have little to no opportunity to exercise or play, both of which are crucial for the physical and emotional health of an animal. Stressed animals get sick more often, and are less adoptable, while adoption rates spike by as much as 25% when animals have dedicated outside play areas! Just think of all the forever homes never found if it weren’t for Rescue Rebuild.
