With Your Help We Are Strengthening the Front Lines Against Animal Cruelty!
By Denise Bash, Director of Special Projects
Everyone wants to help fight animal cruelty, and with your help officers are receiving the extra training and supplies needed to identify and prosecute abusers. The Humane Society of the United States’ Humane States program is providing this training to officers around the country. The training is designed to connect the dots between animal protection laws and the people who enforce them. Officers on the front lines receive training on topics include investigating puppy mills and animal fighting; recognizing and investigating animal cruelty; handling interviews, warrants and evidence collection; and interpreting and applying animal protection laws for rescue and criminal prosecution.
Because of your generous donations, 500 bags filled with high-quality animal cruelty investigation equipment went to officers who took part in training with the Humane States program! Having the tools they need all in one convenient bag will allow them to more quickly and accurately document these cases, resulting in more animal crimes recognized, investigated and prosecuted. Many reports have come back from thankful officers who are now able to confidently recognize animal abuse and prosecute it. Thank you for giving them the tools they need to protect the pets we love!
