Give Lifesaving Mother’s Day Gift
By Brittany John – Health, Hunger and Education Program Manager
This Mother’s Day, we invite you to honor the mother in your life by saving the lives of mothers and babies each and every month.
For just $43 YOU can honor your mother with the gift of a safe delivery to a mother and child along the Thai/Burma border.
Each month this year we are introducing you to a new mother who safely delivered her newborn child at Mae Tao Clinic on the Thai/Burma border. In this region, infant and maternal mortality rates are far too high – 22 times higher than elsewhere. Together with Mae Tao Clinic, we are determined to improve access to prenatal care, safe labor and delivery, and postpartum care for new mothers and their babies. Here the reproductive health team safely deliver between 3-15 babies every day.
This month we’d like to introduce you to 2-day-old Aye Chan Aung and her mother!
