Audrey Rose Wants to Feel Better
By Susan Rosenberg, Director of International Animal Programs
Audrey Rose’s life is in jeopardy until the vet can diagnose exactly is wrong with her…
Let’s start at the beginning. Someone abandoned this kitten with the rest of her litter at a nearby shelter. They had to be picked up within a few hours before they faced euthanization. They were just five weeks old. Most shelters do not have the resources to care for young kittens, but MeoowzResQ came to the rescue! Too many adoptable pets become euthanized just because they either have a minor medical issue or there is no room at the shelter for them.
At first, all of the kittens appeared to be in good health and thriving in foster care. Their foster mom notice that Audrey’s tummy was swollen and she wasn’t growing like her siblings. THe MeoowzResQ veterinarian checked her out. The problem could be a number of things, but they suspect liver issues. Tests including a biopsy must be done to determine what the problem is and how to treat it.
My own pet’s veterinarian has always told me that not knowing or guessing could cause unnecessary problems for the pet. The tests needed for little Audrey are so important. Poor little kitty isn’t thriving like her siblings. It’s so rewarding to be able to help with the medical costs of the more challenging cases for rescues and shelters. Just like Audrey every animal deserves a chance and every group working to save him or her, deserves our help!
