Mr. Feeny: Shelter Cat, High-Fiving Feline, & Resident “Wild Man”
GreaterGood.org, along with its signature program, The Jackson Galaxy Project, is celebrating National Adopt a Shelter Cat Month with our high-fiving feline finalists! Teaching a shelter cat to high-five not only increases their chances of adoption, but also increases their confidence, makes them more social, and gives them a sense of purpose.
Mr. Feeny is Rancho Coastal Humane Society’s resident “Wild Man”. From the moment he arrived at the shelter, it was clear that this kitty loves people and loves to play. Mr. Feeny’s explosive enthusiasm for life and play is often misconstrued as being too wild for a forever home. However, through the National High-Five Contest he has shown that in addition to being wild, he’s smart as heck! In a span of two weeks, he learned “High Five” and “Who da Man” commands. This proved that under the right guide and stimulation, Mr. Feeny can learn and grow. Mr. Feeny is still waiting for his forever family, but we know this cutie will find a home in no time!
