Over 135,000 Shelter Pets Find New Home

Close to 2,000 shelters/rescues offered reduced/waived pet adoption fees on August 17, official Clear The Shelters Day and the final count is in! This year’s Clear The Shelters campaign found forever homes for more than 135,000 pets!

GreaterGood.org presented $10,000 grants to three select shelters and a special kennel makeover to their longest living pet residents— Lili at the Santa Paula Animal Rescue Center, Bentley at the Pennsylvania Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, and Crosby at the SPCA of Westchester County, New York.

You can read more about Lili’s kennel upgrade here.

Lili, Bentley, and Crosby have all been at their shelter for over two years. Luckily, after this year’s campaign, potential adopters have called in asking about these pups and we’re certain they’ll be in their forever homes in no time.

NBC & Telemundo stations’ #ClearTheShelters day is TODAY and this week GreaterGood.org partnered with The Animal Rescue Site and iHeartDogs.com to surprise 3 shelters with cash and product grants in honor of 3 very special pups.
