Thank YOU for Making 2019 a Year to Remember
From breaking records to new projects, your donations made 2019 a year of wonderful accomplishments. We are incredibly grateful for your support to continue funding programs that are making a difference across the world. Here are the highlights of a wonderful year:
From forest fires to floods, you helped our team respond to people and pets in need. Thanks to your support we flew animals from the Bahamas to safety from Hurricane Dorian, provided meals for those displaced from their homes by Hurricane Barry, raised funds to protect the Amazon Forest following the devastating fires, and helped care for those affected by this year’s wildfires in California.
Animal Medical Cases
This year, you helped over 40 pets receive the medical care they desperately needed, like Bela. Bela’s story started in Brazil where she and her littermates were victims of a malicious prank involving fireworks. Sadly, Bela was the only surviving puppy, but she was in bad shape. Thanks to your donations, Bela’s first of multiple surgeries was a success!
In addition to a successful Girls Voices for Change Contest, your support this year funded the first-ever Girls’ Voices International Summit in Uganda. A total of forty students and educators from across Uganda and Kenya attended. The event culminated in a community screening with 500 people, in which girls and educators shared their videos and the community responded to their work. The week was full and dynamic, filled with learning, creativity, and engaging and powerful discussion about the challenges of girls’ empowerment in Uganda and Kenya – ending with a rising commitment of how we could work together to make more opportunities possible for girls.
Food For Homeless Pets
This GivingTuesday alone, you funded over 4.5 million meals for homeless pets around the country. Your donations made it possible for millions of animals in shelters and rescues to have a full belly, like Lulu. Lulu is a sweet, 7-year-old hound/pitbull/terrier mix who was rescued after suffering an awful back injury. Without our Rescue Bank donations, she wouldn’t be able to receive the medical care she needs as her rescue’s budget would go toward food purchases.
New Program for Vets
Your support this year allowed us to launch a new program to protect veterans and their pets. GreaterGood.org’s Good Packs program aims to distribute backpacks with much-needed supplies to veterans and their furry companions. Each Good Pack contains hygiene products, a reusable water bottle, a collapsible bowl to provide a clean place for the pet to eat or drink, a slip lead leash, pet treats, and a toy.
Thanks to your continued support, GreaterGood.org was there when it mattered for people, pets, and the planet.
