Backpacks Help Tucson Veterans In Need

Over 40,000 U.S. veterans are homeless on any given night, many of whom own pets. Unfortunately, these veterans often rely on donations and shelter amenities, that may not always be enough.

That’s why GreaterGood.org created the Good Pack program. This program aims to distribute backpacks with much-needed supplies to veterans and their furry companions. Each Good Pack contains hygiene products, a reusable water bottle, a collapsible bowl to provide a clean place for the pet to eat or drink, a slip lead leash, pet treats, and a toy.

The latest Good Pack delivery was at the 2020 Tucson Veterans Stand Down event in Tucson, AZ, where we donated 50 packs and over $3,000 worth of dog collars.

During the event, veterans had access to hot meals, clothing, haircuts, first aid/minor medical treatment, mental health and religious counseling, substance abuse treatment referrals, job training referrals, pet spay and neuter, and more!
