Hurricane Helene made landfall as a Category 4 hurricane with sustained winds of 140 mph, and a storm surge of up to 20 feet. The catastrophic storm is making her way up through Georgia, the Carolinas and beyond, where communities are experiencing life-threatening flooding, tornadoes, wind, and leaving more than 4 million people without power.
Greater Good Charities has already been on the ground for several days prior to landfall, mobilizing preparedness efforts and setting up infrastructure for our immediate response. Truckloads of urgently needed supplies, including provisions for both people and pets such as food, hygiene products, medications, and emergency packs for displaced families, are en route and are starting to arrive beginning Friday 9/26 to impacted areas. The organization is working in close coordination with government and non-profit partners to evaluate the pressing needs arising from the devastation.
As Helene continues to wreak havoc, requests for help are pouring in from communities across the Southeast. We urgently need your support to provide life-saving aid to people, pets, and the environment. Please donate now to our disaster fund now to help us continue our disaster relief efforts and respond to the evolving needs of those affected by this terrible storm.
Every moment counts. Your support is critical — donate today.
