The Inspiring Tale of Grandma Lyudmyla
Thanks to generous donors, Greater Good Charities recently awarded a significant grant to one of our partners in Ukraine.
This grant helped our partner to aid orphaned pets through three key initiatives: providing emergency aid, supplying nutritious pet food regularly to those caring for the orphaned animals, and making deliveries faster and more efficient.
Thousands of abandoned pets are receiving help, and pet food is supplied to the many compassionate individuals who are caring for these war orphans. One such person is Grandma Lyudmyla.
Grandma Lyudmyla has a passion for felines and has been caring for the strays in her city since the beginning of the war. The cats have become her true family.
Grandma Lyudmyla refuses to leave her cat family despite the danger brought by the war.
She sacrifices her food daily to provide her orphaned pets with a meal and comfort. Thanks to the pet food she has received, both she and her cats will be able to eat. Amidst explosions and gunfire, Lyudmyla stands guard over the homeless cats. Each day, she risks her own life to make the world around her a better place for those she chose as her family.
Grandma Lyudmyla's narrative is not just a story of wartime heroism. It is a powerful testament to the transformative power of love for animals. It shows how this love can turn even the most arduous circumstances into a wellspring of strength and hope, illuminating the resilience and determination of both Grandma Lyudmyla and her feline family.
The war in Ukraine continues, and those who are left behind continue to suffer.
