Manatees are a threatened species. Each year, they are brought to rehabilitation facilities in Florida because they are starving, injured in boat strikes or fishing net entanglements, or plagued by toxic algae such as red tide.

This holiday season, Greater Good Charities is partnering with Clearwater Marine Aquarium (CMA) to rebuild its facility after Hurricanes Helene and Milton flooded the aquarium. This destroyed the their essential life-support systems, which kept the water safe for the animals. We urgently need your support to rebuild so CMA can continue rescuing, rehabilitating, and releasing manatees back into the wild.

Join us in protecting threatened species and vital ecosystems. Make a holiday gift today to help rebuild Clearwater Marine Aquarium and save manatees.

This holiday, Choose Your Good. And together, we’ll make it greater. Donate Now.

Critical: Help Starving Manatees

Zamboni and Yeti, two juvenile manatees rescued by Clearwater Marine Aquarium (CMA), were in critical need of care. Like all manatees, they required a daily intake of 10–20% of their body weight to thrive. Unfortunately, pollution has drastically reduced their native food sources, leaving many manatees starving.

Tragedy struck when Hurricane Helene’s storm surge flooded CMA’s manatee rehabilitation facility. The essential life support systems that maintain water quality for the animals were severely damaged, leaving Zamboni and Yeti without a safe environment to recover.

In late September, the pair was transferred to ZooTampa for temporary care. But for CMA to continue its vital work of rescuing and rehabilitating manatees, we need to rebuild their facilities.

You can help make this possible! Donate now to support CMA’s recovery efforts and ensure a brighter future for manatees like Zamboni and Yeti.
