There are an estimated 3 million stray dogs and cats roaming in Greece. These innocent animals are starving, scared, and sick.
In late 2023, Greater Good Charities was called to help in the city of Xanthi, Northern Greece, where hundreds of dogs were struggling to survive near a municipal rubbish site. Since then, working closely with community partners, we’ve provided food, specialized medical care, funded spay/neuter services, and supported foster and adoption for dozens of pets throughout the country.
Thanks to your generosity, we are expanding our work to other high-need areas. We're leading multi-day veterinary clinics in several refugee camps outside Athens. We're providing sterilizations, vaccinations, and Leishmania treatment to hundreds of animals, all while building trust with communities and promoting long-term change.
You can help us provide food, medical care, and sterilization to control their increasing population. Donate now.

Greater Good Charities is committed to helping pets in crisis through targeted, community-based support. In Greece, this means funding emergency medical care, providing nutritious food and parasite treatment, supporting adoption efforts, and offering free sterilization clinics to reduce overpopulation and improve public health.
When you donate today, you help deliver critical care to stray and at-risk animals, reduce suffering, and empower local partners to create safer, healthier environments for both pets and people.
Give vulnerable animals in Greece the chance they deserve—with your gift, you help them find safety, healing, and the possibility of a loving home.
Greater Good Charities has ultimate authority and discretion with regard to the distribution of its funds. All expenditures made are consistent with the exempt purposes of Greater Good Charities.
