Critical Need: Help Protect People and Pets from Extreme Heat

Temperatures are soaring across the country, creating dangerous heat-related scenarios that put the lives of millions of people and pets at risk. Deaths due to extreme heat far surpass those related to other natural disasters like tornadoes, flooding, fires, and even hurricanes. Impacted cities have already implemented safety measures like canceling outdoor events and opening cooling centers for unhoused populations.

In some places, like New Mexico, the heat is causing wildfires. After being on-site amid the fires, our team continues to assist residents in New Mexico with pet food and supplies and support our partners on the ground with their recovery efforts. 

Greater Good Charities is actively communicating with partners nationwide to assess need so we can assist with supplies, financial support, and care packs to help people and pets remain cool and safe.
