CURRENT RESPONSE: Greater Good Charities is mobilizing in response to the rapidly intensifying Hurricane Ian as it moves to strike Florida.

Hurricane Ian is moving quickly toward the coast of Florida, with predictions estimating that it will rise to a Category 4 storm before making landfall. This storm is predicted to bring life-threatening storm surges, flooding, and sustained hurricane force wind speeds. People and pets in its predicted path need your help now!

Several counties across the state have already issued mandatory evacuations orders. The mayor of Tampa has described Ian as the “worst case scenario” for the western coast of Florida. Parts of Florida that are still struggling to rebuild from the effects of Hurricane Andrew are directly in the path of the storm, and struggling to prepare for another wave of catastrophic flooding.

Greater Good Charities is in contact with partners on the ground as they prepare to respond to this inevitable crisis.

Families, their pets, and animal shelters across Florida need your help now. Greater Good Charities is already in communication with both humanitarian and animal welfare partners across the state. Pet food, supplies, and Good Packs are already on their way. We are also in communication with local shelters who will need emergency transport services to move shelter animals out of harm’s way to make room for incoming displaced animals. We are working to help these organizations mobilize as quickly as possible to provide immediate relief to those who need it most.

Greater Good Charities is dedicated to being there when it matters. With the help of our amazing community of donors, we've provided truckloads of supplies, food for both people and animals, medicine, emergency transport for pets and much-needed funding in the wake of extreme weather events like the recent flooding in Kentucky, the frequent wildfires in California, and now, Hurricane Ian.

We need YOUR help now! Your support allows Greater Good Charities to prepare first response teams as quickly as possible whenever the next disaster strikes. Your donation will support Greater Good Charities’ disaster relief efforts and help provide relief to those affected by this storm.

Every dollar you give will directly support our disaster relief and emergency response to aid both people and animals. Donate today!
