Urgent Request: Help People and Pets Affected by Wildfires in Greece

Over 100 fires are currently blazing across the mainland and islands, forcing evacuations and rescue operations. Authorities ordered the evacuation of towns and villages across the Achaia region, where nearly 25,000 acres have burned in just two days. The fires are devastating communities, resulting in the loss of homes, businesses, and the displacement of thousands. 
 
Greater Good Charities is on the ground—alongside one of our veterinarians—in Patras, Greece, providing humanitarian and animal relief. We’ve already delivered humanitarian aid like blankets and have pet food on the way. Our team is also helping to fill another critical gap — providing urgent veterinary care and medical assessments for animals in crisis.
 
This deployment builds on months of preparedness work and our long-standing commitment to strengthening grassroots organizations so that they can respond rapidly and effectively when disasters strike. The needs are ongoing for humanitarian and animal support, and as wildlife search and rescue begins.
