Greece declared a state of emergency on Chios Island after five large wildfires broke out, forcing evacuations, cutting power, and putting homes and livelihoods at risk. This was the first major wildfire in Greece this summer—part of a growing pattern of increasingly severe fire seasons driven by climate change.
In response, Greater Good Charities has mobilized urgent aid to support both people and animals affected by the crisis. We are supporting local organizations conducting search and rescue operations, wildlife care and rehabilitation, and are rushing food and supplies to help people and pets impacted by the disaster.
Our work doesn’t stop when the fires are out. Your gift today will help us continue delivering long-term support and recovery through trusted local partners.
We can’t do this critical work without you. Donate now to help communities recover and rebuild.

Greater Good Charities is dedicated to being there when it matters®.
With the help of our community of donors, we deliver truckloads of supplies, food for people and animals, medicine, emergency transport for pets, and much-needed funding in the wake of extreme weather events like dangerous flooding, devastating hurricanes, wildfires, and deadly tornadoes.
