URGENT: Deadly Flooding in Texas—Rush Aid Now

Communities in Hill Country Texas are struggling to recover after being hit by more than 2 feet of rainfall. Neighborhoods are underwater, two fatalities have been recorded, and over 200 rescues have taken place.

The flooding risk could continue for the next few weeks as the Nueces River continues to rise over 23 feet. Authorities are also keeping a close eye on Tropical Storm Bertha, which could cause more damage to already vulnerable communities.

Shelter partners reported sending their pets into foster homes in anticipation of an influx of displaced animals. But then the foster homes were forced to evacuate, and with nowhere else to go, many animals were sent back to the shelter. Now, shelters are caring for incoming pets who were separated from their families or surrendered as people frantically evacuated. These pets are scared and in need of aid.
