The holiday season can be a time of joy, togetherness, and the comforts of home and family; for Ukrainians now facing winter in a war-torn country, the holidays can be a bitter reminder of all that’s been lost. Temperatures are dropping below freezing, people in destroyed villages are without electricity, and it’s impossible to walk around outside without fear due to landmines and other explosive remnants. Will you help bring some of the comforts of the holidays back to Ukraine?
This GivingTuesday, YOU can send a Winter Relief Kit filled with essential items to a family who has bravely chosen to remain in the country. These boxes contain items like blankets, scarves, pet food for those caring for animals, seasonal favorites, and traditional holiday meal staples. Just $50 can provide a Winter Relief Kit to a family in need this holiday season. Donate now to help the people of Ukraine.
In Verbivka, the Greater Good Charities team met Maria, a local teacher who was unable to leave during the invasion since her husband was seriously ill. She stayed throughout the occupation, living with the others who stayed in a constant state of fear.
Now, Maria and other Ukrainians face the threat of brutal winter, its dangers intensified given the destruction of infrastructure. While temperatures drop well below freezing, people in destroyed villages find themselves without electricity, fearful to walk around outside due to landmines and other explosive remnants.
You can help provide relief for these brave Ukrainians this GivingTuesday with your donation to our Winter Relief Kit Drive. Each kit includes essential supplies plus ingredients to make holiday meal staples and seasonal favorites. Give NOW to help the people of Ukraine.
