Greater Good Charities is partnering with Clearwater Marine Aquarium (CMA) to rebuild its facility after the devastating impacts of Hurricane Helene and Milton, and we need your help to protect the animals who depend on it.
Zamboni and Yeti
At CMA, Zamboni and Yeti, two juvenile manatees, were receiving critical care for malnutrition and extreme weight loss when the hurricanes hit. Manatees need to consume 10-20% of their body weight daily, yet threats like pollution, harmful algal blooms, and declining water quality make survival increasingly challenging. CMA’s rehabilitation program is a lifeline for these gentle giants.
Manatee Rehabilitation Facility Before Hurricanes Helene and Milton
When Hurricanes Helene and Milton struck, severe flooding destroyed the aquarium's essential life-support systems, which kept the water safe for the animals. While the animals are now at a temporary care facility, Clearwater Marine Aquarium urgently needs support to rebuild and continue its lifesaving work. Fortunately, manatee rehabilitation programs have a 96% success rate, meaning your support can make a powerful impact in rescuing, rehabilitating, and releasing manatees like Zamboni and Yeti back into the wild.
Manatee Rehabilitation Facility After Hurricanes Helene and Milton
Greater Good Charities continues to serve communities across five states, delivering emergency relief to those struggling to recover from Hurricanes Helene and Milton. Our massive response has mobilized 130 trucks loaded with food, water, hygiene products, pet supplies, and more, delivering over $7.8 million in critically needed aid to more than 50 of the hardest-hit communities, including small, hard-to-reach areas. To support essential food supply chains, we're also providing bee pollen substitute, sugar, and syrup to beekeepers impacted by the storms.
Join us in protecting threatened species and vital ecosystems. Donate today to help rebuild Clearwater Marine Aquarium and save manatees like Zamboni and Yeti.
