Around 100 dogs were removed from a home in Alabama after a neighbor called to request authorities check on the pets. Volunteers from the local shelter arrived expecting around 15 pets, but what they found was much worse.
Feces, bugs, and vermin covered the floor. Dogs were living in the insulation and had burrowed into holes on the property to give birth to litters. Without veterinary care, the population had quickly gotten out of control, and many of the dogs are suffering from heartworm, bite marks, parasites, and infections.
Greater Good Charities is partnering with a local animal organization to provide rescue and care for the dogs. Given their living situation, they’ll need extensive medical exams and treatment.

Every day, animals across the country face unimaginable suffering due to neglect, cruelty, and exploitation.
Rescuing animals from these situations is complex and resource-intensive. It requires the combined efforts of animal shelters, law enforcement, veterinary professionals, and rescue organizations. Each case demands careful documentation, swift action, and immediate access to medical care—especially when animals are injured or ill.
At Greater Good Charities, we support the critical work of partners on the ground, helping fund animal rescues and providing essential aid during and after these operations. With your help, we can respond when the call comes in.
Your donation supports life-saving rescues and care—providing food, medical treatment, and shelter for animals on their path to recovery.
Together, we can offer them safety, dignity, and a second chance. Will you be there when they need it most?
