Our Rescue Rebuild team travels to selected shelters to take projects from concept to creation to improve both the lives of humans and animals. We help animals in need in a variety of different settings: Animal Shelters, Domestic Violence Shelters, and Homeless & Veterans Housing.

YOU can help! Your gift can support Rescue Rebuild to make projects like the one below a reality. Donate today to help make these renovations a success.

YOU can save thousands of dogs like Sheba at the Gulf Coast Humane Society!

With your help, Greater Good Charities was able to renovate Gulf Coast Humane Society's (GCHS) lobby and help provide improved spaces for cats in their charge. Now, they’re headed back to Fort Myers for Phase 2 of their project: giving shelter dogs bigger spaces and second chances.

Last year, GCHS’ lobby went through a massive renovation that included custom tile, cabinets, and desks. Rescue Rebuild also completely renovated their adjacent cat rooms to create two free-roaming spaces – plus a meet-and-greet space for their cats! Two multi-purpose rooms connected to the lobby have been built in order to highlight animals that have been at the shelter for a long time.

Now, Rescue Rebuild is heading back to finish the job – and the next phase of this project is all about dogs! It’s time to give the GCHS pups the same treatment, with fresh paint and glass-front kennels to foster a welcoming space for adopters to find their new pets. The new kennels will also be taller so the shelter can show off their big dogs too.

Sheba-GGC-RR

Sheba is one of the dogs who has been impacted by Gulf Coast Humane Society’s work. Last year, a video went viral in Southwest Florida. In the video, in a car parked at a RaceTrac gas station, a young man was mercilessly beating a dog. This dog was Sheba.

The perpetrator was eventually identified, arrested, and charged. Sheba, a two-year-old terrier mix, was taken to the Gulf Coast Humane Society. After surviving such a brutal beating, she found a new home and a new owner who loves her the way she deserves to be loved.

Sadly, Sheba is not the only dog who needs help. With this renovation, GCHS hopes to help even more dogs find love and safety.

YOU can help! Just $5 can help Rescue Rebuild rebuild shelters. Give today to help give the dogs at Gulf Coast Humane Society a better temporary home and a better chance of finding a permanent one.
