Ukraine Crisis: Feed Pets in Need

As we enter our 3rd year of aid to Ukraine, pets continue to suffer the trauma of war — abandonment, fear of explosions and attacks, and the constant struggle to find food. Dogs and cats in Ukraine are starving. Dogs like Corvin, a sweet puppy who was found by a Ukrainian soldier. War is no place for a pet, and the sounds of explosions and shelling kept Corvin in a constant state of terror. The soldier kept Corvin safe, warm, and fed until he could get him to a shelter to find a new forever family.

URGENT help is needed to send pet food into Ukraine as the country faces severe food shortages for both people and pets.

When the conflict in Ukraine first broke out, thousands of pets were carried across the border to safety in neighboring countries. But now, adoptions are waning, and shelters are over capacity. Russia has seized grain stores and destroyed farmland, meaning shelters cannot access food to feed their pets. The capital of Kiev is raided and bombed each night, putting thousands of families and their pets at risk. The pets of Ukraine need help now.

Greater Good Charities has been on the ground since the beginning of the war and has established a distribution network to move large quantities of pet food directly to the people and pets who need it. Together with our partners at The Animal Rescue Site we are purchasing truckloads of emergency food to send to shelters caring for pets within Ukraine and distribution centers in neighboring countries helping displaced Ukrainian people with pets. But we cannot do it without you.

We're shipping in food at a cost of $.10/meal and we have requests for hundreds of tons each month. We're also working to set up feeding stations in Ukraine for starving street animals without access to food or water.

For just $50, you can provide over 500 nutritious meals that will be delivered straight to hungry pets impacted by this crisis. For families who fled with their pets, pet food means they won’t need to worry about caring for their dog or cat on top of everything else. And for shelters in Ukraine, this emergency relief means they can continue to care for the animals in their care and the new ones coming in every day.

Displaced Ukrainian people, shelters, and pets need you now. Every dollar donated will provide a minimum of 10 meals to feed hungry pets affected by the Ukraine crisis, giving relief to their families and those caring for them. Donate now to help starving pets in need.
