The partnership with student-led Crisis Student Response Network (CSRN) unlocks further support for local nonprofit partners and creates new opportunities for young people to drive social impact.

October 13, 2026, SEATTLE – Greater Good Charities has today announced that Crisis Student Response Network (CSRN) will be joining the global organization. As a UK-based nonprofit, CSRN is led by global students to provide pro bono consulting, research, journalism and implementation services to nonprofits during and after global crisis events. The joining of the two organisations will expand Greater Good Charities' capacity to deliver aid globally while strengthening their engagement with young people working in social impact.

Liz Baker, CEO of Greater Good Charities, said: “Training and community engagement have long been part of Greater Good Charities' DNA. We've supported nonprofits around the world not just with resources, but with the skills and knowledge they need to grow. Welcoming CSRN into the Greater Good Charities family allows us to formalize and expand that work, giving our local partners even deeper access to hands-on, capacity-building support — and, where it's needed most, we're also able to pair that consulting with funding, so partners have both the expertise and the resources to put it into action.

"At the same time, this partnership creates a meaningful pipeline for students and young professionals to gain real-world nonprofit experience, working directly with organizations on the front lines of crisis response and community impact. It's a natural extension of who we are, and it sets up both our partners and the next generation of changemakers for greater success," continued Baker.

Founded in 2020, CSRN has built a global network of over 5,000 students – with 63 university branches registered, including UCLA, University of Exeter, and Hindu College. The network helps organizations adapt their services to drive social impact in regions impacted by crises, and clients have ranged from renowned nonprofits such as UN Global Compact, Make A Wish, Blood Cancer UK, and United Help Ukraine, to local and grass roots organizations like Help Bristol’s Homeless, Action for Refugee Life, and SoleFamily.

With over 570 projects delivered so far for nonprofits globally including the UK, Lebanon, Kenya, Uganda, India, Malaysia, Indonesia, Ukraine, Palestine, Nepal, and more, the addition of CSRN’s model will expand Greater Good Charities' service offering in areas such as fundraising, consulting, governance, and innovation — while tapping into its extensive global partnership network to help even more young people utilise their skills and ideas to support organizations making a difference in their communities.

The partnership also sees the appointment of CSRN’s former CEO, Philip Black, who is based in the UK and joins Greater Good Charities as Senior Program Manager.

Philip Black, who leads CSRN and now serves as Senior Program Manager at Greater Good Charities, added: “Greater Good Charities’ focus on supporting local charities and their long-term development aligns perfectly with CSRN’s mission. CSRN is built on the belief that local NGOs, embedded within their communities, are best placed to drive meaningful social impact, and Greater Good Charities has demonstrated the power of this approach on a global scale. I am excited about what this partnership means for the future, and I look forward to fostering new relationships with local organizations to engage even more young people into the social impact space and harness their talent, innovation and passion for good.”

Greater Good Charities has already begun identifying opportunities to connect its program partners with pro bono services, with outreach to CSRN's global student network underway ahead of the next project cycle.

Looking ahead, Greater Good Charities hopes to build on the work of CSRN to open stronger pathways connecting nonprofits with the next generation of changemakers to ensure organizations have the resources and talent needed to increase their impact.
