Good Flights Partners with PEDIGREE Foundation, Mars Petcare to Fly At-Risk Shelter Pets to Forever Homes

Greater Good Charities’ Good Flights program conducts life-saving airlifts and supports ground transport for at-risk pet populations with a heavy focus on asymptomatic heartworm positive shelter dogs, disaster relief, homeless cats, and harder-to-adopt large-breed dogs.

We’re proud to announce our new “Flying to Forever Homes” initiative in partnership with Mars Petcare and PEDIGREE Foundation, the charitable arm of the PEDIGREE® brand.

Together, Mars Petcare and PEDIGREE Foundation provided Good Flights a $100,000 grant to help fund the transport of at-risk shelter pets and help the receiving animal shelters find them forever homes.

Natural disasters, like hurricanes and floods, are on the rise and can often cause a crisis for animal shelters serving their homeless pets and the needs of their communities. Moving un-owned pets out of these areas assists shelters in providing critical and life-saving care for pets and families in need, pre and post-disaster.

Through a series of six flights, hundreds of pets will be flown to new adoptive homes thanks to the “Flying to Forever Homes” initiative! During Father’s Day weekend, a multi-plane mission of more than 150 at-risk shelter pets will include the inaugural Good Flights “Flying to Forever Homes” airlift. The shelter pets include harder-to-adopt large breed dogs and cats, will board the inaugural flight in Lafayette, LA in the early morning hours of June 19 and arrive Ypsilanti, MI later that same morning.

We can do this because your lifesaving donation will be matched dollar for dollar, up to $35,000, thanks to PEDIGREE Foundation and Mars Petcare! Just $5 helps cover the fuel costs of flying a pet 125 miles towards safety. If you are able to contribute, please donate to help these pets reach safety.
