How You Can Amplify the Good this GivingTuesday

Written by GGC | Nov 19 2021

GivingTuesday is a global day of giving back to support the causes you care most about. This year, with the coronavirus pandemic affecting so many, your generosity has never meant more.

This GivingTuesday, join Greater Good Charities so that together we can have the biggest impact possible for people, pets, and the planet. They need you now, more than ever. Here are four ways you can amplify the good for people, pets, and the planet this GivingTuesday

Send Food and Comfort to Struggling Americans

In the wake of the pandemic and the economic hardship it has caused, over 42 million people may experience food insecurity this year, including a potential 13 million children, according to Feeding America.

The comfort of basic necessities and a nutritious meal can help struggling friends and neighbors stay afloat as they work to pull themselves back up—and they need your help.

Food Drive for Pets in Need

Across the country, animal shelters and rescues are overcrowded and understaffed. One of the biggest expenses for shelters and rescue groups is feeding pets in their care. This is a struggle for many groups in a normal year—and with the effects of a pandemic, economic downturn, and unprecedented natural disasters, this has not been a normal year.

With pets flooding shelters and the temperature dropping, overcrowded shelters incur extra expenses. The need for food is dire, and pets need you now more than ever.

Give Food and Comfort to Veterans WITHOUT shelter

On any given night, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) estimates that nearly 40,000 veterans experience homelessness. And in the wake of the pandemic and the economic hardship it has caused for so many, even more of our nation’s heroes are at risk of food insecurity and unemployment.

The security of basic comfort items and a nutritious meal can help bridge the gap for our veterans as they seek to secure permanent housing—and they need your help.

Protect Critical Habitat with Project Peril

Last year the World Wildlife Fund released a sobering report: birds, mammals, amphibians, reptiles, and fish have suffered a 68% decline in just the last 50 years. Driving this decline are actions like increased destruction of habitats and the illegal wildlife trade.

We are running out of time to stop the destruction of our global ecosystems, but change is possible with your support. Right now your gift to help Project Peril protect habitat for threatened and endangered species will be TRIPLED!
