If you're wondering how to get involved, Greater Good Charities has an entire GivingTuesday catalog of important causes and programs that are actively making a difference in the world through our four pillars: People, Pets, Planet, and Disaster Relief.

Why is it called GivingTuesday? 

The name GivingTuesday originated due to it being the first Tuesday after Thanksgiving (and Black Friday), reminding us to be thankful for what we have and to extend a helping hand to those in need. It's a day to counteract the hustle and bustle of holiday shopping with a meaningful act of kindness.

GivingTuesday began as a simple idea – to create a day that encourages people to do good. Over the past eleven years, this idea has blossomed into a global movement, inspiring millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.
