Emergency Veterinary Services

When a pet in a shelter’s or rescue’s care needs medical attention, staff don’t want to have to think twice. But for organizations already stretching their budgets thin to cover basics like food for the many pets in their care, sudden medical expenses can be out of range.
Our emergency veterinary funding fills that gap. We provide financial support to deliver emergency medical care and treat critically ill or injured animals.
Whether it's a stray hit by a car, a litter abandoned on a rescue's doorstep, or a beloved family pet who is receiving critical care from a partner organization, our emergency veterinary funding provides lifesaving care while reducing euthanasia of treatable animals.
Your donations make emergency medical care for animals in need possible. When you give, you are directly saving a life.
Give monthly to stretch your gift even further, providing recurring support for animals in need of care.

It was the end of August in Tennesse when a car hit Brownie. Instead of seeking medical attention right away, his owners decided to wait out the situation to see if Brownie would recover. Upon realizing that he would not, they surrendered him to their local animal control.
After arriving at the local SPCA, Brownie was not walking correctly. He fractures in his leg, significant arthritis, and a degenerating knee. But thanks to funding from our supporters, Brownie got the medical care he needed and recovered.
Brownie's success is just one of many stories made possible by our donors.

- We save lives that others might have written off. Funding care from triage to full recovery, emergency vet funding creates positive outcomes for animals.
- Covering medical costs strengthens shelters from the inside out, puting their limited budgets towards foster programs, adoption initiatives, and other community outreach.
- We keep families whole in their hardest moments. By supporting veterinary costs through shelters who are supporting pet parents that can't afford them, we keep owned pets where they belong: with their families.
- We provide large scale animal cruelty response and support. These grants help organizations respond quickly when animals arrive in crisis, covering costs like veterinary care, supplies, and staffing.
- A single pet's medical crisis builds resilience beyond the emergency itself. A single pet's medical crisis may look small next to a large-scale disaster, but for the organization responsible for that animal, it's immediate and deeply personal.
