FAQ: Grants and Services
General non directions inquiry

Have you checked out the individual programs on our website here to see what we offer? We suggest this is a start!

If you find that you have specific questions for a program, feel free to reach back out.

I am in need of food for my shelter or rescue, do you have a program that can help?

You may pay special attention to our GOODS program. We currently partner with hundreds of animal welfare organizations regularly, so hopefully you can find one of our GOODS Ambassadors that can support your needs. GOODS Ambassadors receive donated products which could come from many of our donors (Purina, Royal Canin, Chewy, etc.) and they have recipients which can then receive smaller allocations of these donations.  You can inquire with the Ambassador closest to you which can be found on this map.

Thank you for your commitment to positive outcomes for pets and people in your community.

I am in need of food for my pet, can you help?

Greater Good Charities GOODS program does not provide direct assistance to individuals and their personal pets. We do provide grants for 501c3 non-profit organizations that support food and supply distribution in areas of need.

We encourage you to reach out to your local food bank, pet pantry and/or animal shelter/welfare organization for assistance.

I am in need of medical assistance for my pet, can you help?

Greater Good Charities Emergency Animal Medical Program does not provide direct assistance to individuals and their personal pets. Although we support care for owned animals on a case by case basis, we do so through our shelter and animal welfare partners that contact us directly about the need.

We suggest checking out Bow Wow Buddies or similar groups online to review the resources available. Depending on where you live, your local humane society or animal welfare group may also have resources for the community members who need help with their pets.

I need my pet spayed/neutered, can you help?

Greater Good Charities' Good Fix program does not provide direct assistance to individuals and their personal pets outside of our scheduled clinics. We work at the request of local organizations to target the animals most in need. In this manner, we do not operate on an individual appointment basis. We strongly encourage you to seek support through your local animal welfare organization(s) or veterinary clinic(s) that provide spay/neuter surgical services.

There are animals being euthanized in my local community, can you help?

Thank you for reaching out to Greater Good Charities. We appreciate your concern. If you are affiliated with the shelter, we can certainly reach out to them to let them know about our programs

If you are not affiliated with the shelter, we suggest reaching out to local animal welfare organizations, rescue groups or other animal advocates in your community. They may be able to provide guidance, resources, or connect you with an organization that can help.

I need help with the community cats in my area, do you have a program that can help?

Greater Good Charities is not affiliated directly with any Trap Neuter Return Rescues. We suggest connecting with your local animal shelter or rescue to inquire about assistance or resources.

Our shelter/rescue needs help with TNR, do you have as program that can help?

Greater Good Charities suggests connecting with your local animal shelter or rescue to inquire about assistance or resources.

Our organization is planning/doing a capital campaign, do you offer grants to support this?

Greater Good Charities currently does not offer financial grant support for capital campaigns or new builds/modifications that fall outside of our own Rescue Rebuild efforts, however, they may be able to support you with design plans. Please see links to apply to Rescue Rebuild here.

Additionally, have you checked out the individual programs on our website here to see what we offer?

We do have a robust in-kind grant program through GOODS for animal care, animal feed, and veterinary pharmaceutical products as well as foster recruitment support through our Good Home platform. We also have an Emergency Animal Medical grant program that provides cost of care assistance for pets that have pre-existing or emergent conditions that prohibit placement.

Our shelter needs help transporting pets. How can we get help?

Good Flights, a program of Greater Good Charities, conducts life-saving airlifts and supports ground transport for at-risk and vulnerable pet populations with a heavy focus on asymptomatic heartworm positive shelter dogs, disaster relief, homeless cats, and harder to place large dogs. At this time, we are currently committed to our existing routes. If you are interested in becoming a receiver please email goodflights@greatergood.org.
