Humanitarian Aid Vehicle Bombed by Russian Drone Strike
In regions facing active conflict, daily life is marked by uncertainty, danger, and loss. Yet even in these conditions, humanitarian workers continue to show up—delivering food, evacuating civilians, and offering vital support to those caught in crisis.
In eastern Ukraine, where shelling and drone attacks remain a daily threat, local volunteer Evgeniy and Greater Good Charities’ partner organization, United for Animals, are working against the odds to deliver emergency supplies to people and animals in need.

Humanitarian Aid Delivery Under Attack
During a recent aid distribution, Evgeniy’s vehicle—clearly marked with blue humanitarian symbols—was struck by a drone-launched explosive. The impact destroyed critical supplies and severely damaged the vehicle. Evgeniy sustained a concussion, but survived.
Despite the incident, he has returned to the field.
“I have to keep going,” he told our team. “People are waiting for help, and there’s no one else to bring it.”
Evgeniy continues to coordinate evacuations, deliver humanitarian aid, and offer assistance to those most vulnerable in areas with ongoing active conflict.

Why This Work Matters
As the war in Ukraine continues, humanitarian access remains unpredictable and dangerous. Local volunteers like Evgeniy often serve as the only link between isolated communities and the aid they need to survive.
With the support of Greater Good Charities and its donors, frontline responders are delivering:
-
Emergency food and hygiene supplies
-
Evacuation support for people and animals
-
Access to veterinary care and shelter resources
-
Critical logistical coordination with regional partners
This work saves lives. It also brings dignity and support to communities experiencing extreme trauma and displacement.

Support That Moves with the Crisis
Greater Good Charities has been active in Ukraine since the start of the conflict, working with trusted local partners to identify needs in real time and deploy aid where it’s most urgently required. From food deliveries to infrastructure repair, animal care, and medical support, our team has remained committed to helping Ukrainians navigate this prolonged emergency.
We know that crisis rarely exists in isolation. That’s why our work considers the full spectrum of impact on people, animals, and the environment.
